• Co-designed “Fair Witness” technology for secure third-party verification of critical web transactions (1999).

BT Ventures

• Designed PKI-based Certified Electronic Mail (CEM) system, including ability to require a signed receipt from the recipient without third party intervention (1997-98).

• Co-designed “CryptWrap” e-contracting and digital rights management system (1996).
• Designed Reliance Manager (RM) technology, online certificate status checking coupled with identity warranty (1995-96), licensed to Identrus (April 2001).
• Designed “Multi-Step Signing” distributed split-key CA technology, including key servers, signing officer and registration agent workstations. Delivered to MasterCard/Visa (SetCo) for SET Credit Card Payment System Root CA (1995-96).

• Designed signing authority model for banking, corporate, legal, and medical use. Formed the basis for ANSI X9.45, and related ATSM medical records standard (1994-95).
• Designed corporate key escrow system, including international independence, choice of agents, and audit protections. Highly rated by leading security experts (1993-94).

Bankers Trust Technology

• Designer and team leader for BT Authentication Server (BTAS), including single-signon, one-time password tokens, Kerberos, public-key exchange, and encryption (1992-3). Used by up to 40,000 employees and clients of Deutsche Bank accessing over 200 financial applications, and also deployed at State Street Bank and Goldman Sachs.

• Independent Election Corp., substantial rewrite of "Contest System," handling most United States proxy elections with two or more solicitation groups. Maintained and supported “Verbal Voting” call-in proxy voting system (1989-90).
• Director Services Corp., developed "Industry Practice Report" system to compare expense data across mutual fund companies (1987-89). 
• U.S. National Institutes of Health, scientific equipment rental program, developed “SERP” system to manage inventory, rentals, and purchase orders (1988-89). 
• U.S. National Park Service, developed "National Archeology Database" (NADB) used at over 60 sites to collect and manage archeological survey reports (1987-88).
